How Mary Lost 25LBS at DSC!

Before DSC, I had not worked out in almost ten years! I was overweight and always tired.

I would often need a nap to get through the day and had no energy or motivation to do anything. I was not eating well and snacked often. I was not really happy and I was embarrassed about how I looked.

I had been following DSC on social media and was intrigued but I kept making excuses for myself not to go. I told myself it was too far or the classes were not convenient for me. The reality is it’s only a 25-minute commute and I get out of work at 1:00 p.m. There should be no excuses.

Finally, after being under so much stress with building a house, losing both my in-laws and watching my step father dying of cancer, I knew something had to change. I knew it was time to take care of myself. 

I made the decision to try DSC and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life!

My goal when I joined DSC was simple – show up. I knew if I went to classes the weight would come off. At this time, I felt it was very important to just get myself into a new routine and make a commitment. 

I remember how nervous I was all day thinking about the first class I would be taking that night. I had just turned 57 years old and I was nervous everyone would be so much younger than me, that I would stick out and I would not be able to keep up. I was also embarrassed about how I looked. 

After my first class I realized all my fears were unfounded. I felt so welcomed as soon as I arrived. Not only by the amazing coaches but by the members as well. The first class was awesome. I loved the energy I felt in the room and I knew this was the place for me! 

It was a challenge but Chris was by my side making sure I was doing everything properly and made modifications so I didn’t over do it. 

I was finally doing something for myself that I knew I would enjoy.

I started going to the classes three times a week but changed to an unlimited class membership within the first month because I loved it so much. 

I love having to schedule your classes the week before, because it makes you accountable. 

I love walking into the gym and all the coaches know your name and welcome you with a big smile. They are always so happy and in the best of moods. 

I also love at the end of class all the members are smiling looking at each other saying ‘we did it”.  Everyone is so supportive of each other. Being in a class environment helps you to push yourself more. Just when you think you can’t do one more burpee, then you look and see others are still going it makes you keep going.  

It is incredible to see all the transformations made by members at DSC! It’s so awesome. 

This is what DSC does, it changes people for the better. 

DSC has helped me in a short period of time to reach my goals. 

Since joining DSC, I have lost 25 pounds and counting!

My entire body has changed. 

I never would have thought I would be saying “I am back in a Size 2”, but because of DSC, I am proud to say I am!!

DSC is like no other. The team of coaches are amazing and I can’t thank them enough for all their support and encouragement throughout my journey to become a healthier me. 

Thanks to their motivation I have become physically stronger than I had ever thought I could be.

My only regret is that I did not join sooner!
