DSC Members Raise $11,000 For Charity!
Here at DSC, we are extremely fortunate to have some of the most giving and supportive members on the planet.
So far in 2019, our members have raised around $30,000 to benefit various charities!
Yesterday our members kept that generosity going with our "Help Our Heroes" Charity Workout.
We are very luck to have a large portion of our members at DSC be first responders.
These incredibly impactful, yet high stress jobs can be as hard mentally (if not harder) as they are physical.
For some this can come at a horrible cost.
Recent data shows that first responders are more likely to die by suicide than in the line of duty.
This of course impacts many of us (beyond just first responders) as suicide is now the 10th leading cause for death in the United States.
To aid in the efforts of suicide prevention and awareness, all proceeds from yesterday's charity workout went to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
The day started with moving presentations from Nashua's Chief of Police and Fire.
They talked about the importance of mental health awareness amongst first responders and how it impacts their lives and work.
Then we got into the workout!
250 DSC members worked together with their teams through a variety of team challenges during our workouts.
Each challenge was 7 minutes long and teams worked together through exercises using our various equipment like our rowers, bike, treadmills, sleds, skiergs, and versaclimbers.
The day was a BLAST and teams worked so hard!
Over the course of the day, DSC members raised over $11,000!
How AWESOME is that?!
We cannot thank you all enough for your tireless effort to give back as well as support one another and our community.
We are so proud!
