Sports Massage
A therapeutic massage designed for those in need of deeper tissue work. This technique emphasizes increasing flexibility, breaking-up adhesions, and reducing trigger-point pain. Sports massage was designed for athletes, but is useful for anyone with chronic pain, injury, or range-of-motion issues. Sports massage assists in prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons.
Thai Yoga Massage
Promotes physical and emotional wellness. Hands, feet, forearms, elbows and knees are used to apply a combination of massage, and gentle yoga-like stretches in a rhythmic flow of movements. The client remains fully dressed in comfortable, loose-fitting clothes and lies on a floor mat.
Swedish Massage
Uses oils or creams to facilitate smooth, gliding strokes over the entire body. Other classic Swedish massage moves include kneading, friction, stretching and tapping. Swedish massage uses firm but gentle pressure to promote relaxation and ease muscle tension. Swedish massage helps to shorten recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable.
Neuromuscular Technique
Employs a sequence of strokes along the back or abdomen, to assist in returning the body to a state of structural and functional balance. This massage technique assists with postural realignment, joint mobility, lymphatic/circulatory flow (toxin removal), and the reduction of muscular tension and pain.
Lymphatic Massage
A specialized full-body technique that helps to strengthen the body's defenses and support the immune system. Range-of-motion and light, “feathering” strokes are used to encourage the flow of lymph along its natural course, which aids the transport of essential nutrients and the removal of cellular waste, toxins, bacteria, and excess fluid.
Circulatory Massage
A calming, meditative technique that relaxes and rejuvenates, while promoting optimal circulatory functioning. Focused breathing and visualization accompany a sequence of compression strokes that help to normalize the rate, pressure, direction, and volume of blood circulating the body.
