Before joining DSC's Women's Group Training I had always been a consistent treadmill walker.  I would walk 45 minutes 4-5 times a week. Talk about boring!

Before joining I was terrified.  I kept telling my family I was in no shape to join a gym!  I knew I was terribly out of shape and very overweight.

I didn’t think I’d be able to keep up, I didn’t think I’d fit in, and I was embarrassed that I had let myself get to that extreme.

After my first women's group session I remember thinking, this is what a real workout is like!  I had been to plenty of other gyms before but never worked nearly as hard.  It was eye opening.  Even though I was exhausted after the workout, it was such a good feeling to know that I had taken the first step to lead me back to better health and fitness.

Initially I was very concerned about injury seeing I had disc issues, but Matt and Renee worked with me to ensure I didn’t do anything to cause injury.  The trainers are great at making modifications in the exercises for people with injuries or limited mobility.

Fast forward to today and I’m already down nearly 50 pounds!

I have to say that while it’s great to shed the pounds and wear smaller sizes, it is a great feeling to have stamina and know that every day when I leave the gym I’ve done something to improve my health.

To anyone thinking of joining, I would say it is completely worth stepping out of your comfort zone to reap the benefits of DSC!  The hardest part is walking in the door that first day.  Once you get past that, you will be so glad that you did.  Don’t let  your fears stop you from making a positive change in your life.
